To a beginning piano student, learning the names of all 88 piano keys can be quite intimidating or even overwhelming when you’re sitting on the piano bench looking from left to right at the black and white seemingly endless row of keys. You may be thinking of asking your teacher (don’t do it!) where you can buy stickers to identify each key.
Well… I’m here to tell you that once you can name twelve keys, you will be able to identify all 88 keys with confidence. Once you familiarize yourself with the black key pattern, the musical alphabet, how up and down are determined, how to measure an octave, the black key pattern and you will understand where the keys are you may understand it all by the time you finish reading this article.
